I agree with MarMar! I've used this lotion 3 times already and I am DARK! It's amazing! I first thought "30 bronzers? Isn't that a little much?! I don't want to be orange." It gives you beautiful color and, as promised by Designer Skin, it lasts a while. The smell is "Caribbean Mist," which smells nice in the bottle and on the skin. It smelled a bit musky after a while. Just be aware of that. This lotion also makes your skin feel very soft. To me, it's a mix between a tingler and a normal lotion. Just enough heat, but without the burn. It's actually relaxing with the tanning bed heat, with a few fans going, and then the volcanic minerals working on you, too. After tanning, your body will feel a little more hot than normal. Be careful around your face, especially near or under your eyes. The warming part may make you feel uncomfortable. The first time I used a packet at the salon, this happened to me and it felt weird. I tried Obsidian today, and let me tell you it went beyond what I expected!!! Like Luminary and Black, Obsidian contains a Silicone Emulsion that leaves your skin velvety smooth. The volcanic minerals in this lotion provide much needed nourishment that your skin needs. The 30X Bronzer is this lotion broke through my tanning plateau and I had a super dark color with the first use. Plus, this lotion is a thermogenic, meaning it provides a warming sensation while tanning. Finally, this lotion is the first I have used out of all Designer Skins lotions that really leaves you smelling like a fresh peach with no after tan odor present. The smell is incredible, and I have received various compliments on it! All in all this lotion is definitely worth it!!! I am fair skin, Irish and German decent and usually just burn and peel and remain the white paste no matter what I do. I've tried everything to tan even the fake tanning and nothing takes to my skin. So for my wedding next month I decided to give it one more shot. I did as directed and started with a base tan it took 3 weeks but finally I got a little color. Then I switched to Obsidian my first bronzing lotion in 8 years. The last round left me with orange after glows. But with this product I had results in 2 visits. Although there is a slight tingle and redness on the skin for the first visits the enriched formula left my dry itchy skin so smooth, so rich, so DARK! It was amazing. I have never been this dark in my life! No peeling, no discoloration, all even color. I am darker than my fiance who is of Hispanic decent! He is jealous of how dark I am now. Do not buy it if you are fair skinned or a casual tanner. The first time I used this lotion, I came out of the bed red and looking sunburned. The redness only last for about an hour and the 'itchiness' went away within 10 minutes. Within hours my skin was already 4-5 shades darker. The more I used it, the less red I would become and although it was still intense while in the tanning bed, the aftermath didn't last as long. I usually use this lotion for a month to get really dark and then switch to another because you build tolerance to it. (Note: I like to really feel the buuurrn, so other people may prefer to still use it after they get used to it.) Unlike some other tingle lotions, this one doesn't have a bronzer, so you get a really natural looking, deep, dark tan. No orange tint of any kind! I love this lotion and would recommend it to anyone. I feel like it's worth the 'aftermath' considering the quality of color that you get. Hope this helps! I work at a tanning salon, and YES I do like tingle lotions. I'm certified as a skin/tanning consultant by the state of Wisconsin. Tingle lotions are the best simply for one main reason, don't get freaked out by the honesty..... what they do is bring the blood to the top of the skin and help circulate the melanin in your skin. That's why you get that "tingling" sensation and reddening effect. That's why tingle lotions always get you a darker, more longer lasting tan. Unfortunately alot of people cannot handle this kind of "pain". It goes away after a couple of hours, at best. If you can handle a lil discomfort for a bit, tingle will ALWAYS get you the best color for the longest time. Hopefully this will help you to know why you feel that, what I call, "pins and needles" feeling. Trust me, it's worth it!! I hadn't been tanning in about 3 weeks and when I tried this lotion out, it was fine at first - but after I left the salon, I felt like I had fire ants biting my arms and legs. It took over an hour for the itching to stop. The next time I tried this lotion, I had a good base tan and my skin simply tingled during and after the tanning session with no itching at all. This lotion goes on warm and has a nice smell to it, and allows for a darker tan - so if you want to try a tanning lotion with a little kick and you don't want to pay full price for it at the salon, this is the one for you. This product is awesome!! I have fair skin and every self tanning lotion/spray I've tried always makes me look orange. I promise you this one doesn't. The flip side is it's not going to make you look brown or super tan though either, so don't expect that. What it DOES do is give you a little color and a really nice glow, especially on your face. It also evens out your skin tone on your face too. Any downsides/negatives? The only one I can think of is it's harder to wash off your hands if you don't wash it off immediately after applying it. TIP: I know it says use it before bed but here are 3 REASONS TO USE IT IN THE MORNING INSTEAD: 1) If you use it right before bed some of it will come off on your pillow and sheets and stain them. 2) If you use it at night and shower in the morning and use a washcloth or loofah, you're going to wash/rub some of it off before your day even starts. 3) If you use it in the morning...
